I wonder...How lucky you are to have great friends! I wonder if you ever read back over your own "online journal"--there are some great memories here. The food sounds wonderful. I miss the down-to-earth table of the Midwest. Thanks once again for sharing.Ellenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06577914443944550903noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1313799681501729309.post-66281697000354940522009-09-23T08:59:40.345-04:002009-09-23T08:59:40.345-04:00I would have been so excited to see potatoes!! Of course, when you say childhood, I immediately gravitate to candy apples and funnel cake....hmmmm...

Thanks for sharing your evening!Sharonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13940623529019637336noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1313799681501729309.post-68817130925858741932009-09-21T23:55:56.489-04:002009-09-21T23:55:56.489-04:00What a wonderful evening. My Grandma Edna made the best hamburgers ever and I have yet to be able to even find on or make one that comes close. We'd walk do the street to the corner store - she had this dressy navy blue jacket and wore some really bright lipstick! - and we'd buy the meat and buns and potatoes. She did this thing with the bun, like it was a little greasy yet crispy around the edges. I can't figure that out either, darn it. :) And the fries she made! Real cut up potato fries. Ahhh. Thanks a bunch for this wonderful trip down memory lane. :) Good night! Oh, and PS I think I have had the most fun with the things that only grew a little...like our potatoes and carrots!Captain's Wife - Jenniferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12339599969361813947noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1313799681501729309.post-89108804660098266652009-09-21T19:41:02.246-04:002009-09-21T19:41:02.246-04:00Those potatoes look gorgeous!
